On July 10th with the first edition of the Concert in Alta Langa in the Woods of Monte Rotondo in Torresina, with the Arias and choirs from the Operas of Giuseppe Verdi, dedicated to the musics for the Unity of Italy, opens Suoni dalle colline di Langhe e Roero, the magic of music travels between the most fascinating places of Langhe and Roero, until August 4th.

After the success of the eighth spring edition, Alba Music Festival begins the fifth edition of the summer program, Suoni dalle Colline di Langhe e Roero, three weeks of concerts, all free admission, with artists from Italy and many countries around the world, such as United States, Japan, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Argentina, England, Germany, in places imbued with life, history, and art.

The echoes of Sounds will spread between the charm of the hills, in a musical voyage that has conquered the favor of lovers of beauty and art, a local and international audience that intently follows this summer itinerary, that superimposes the originality of the programs and the pleasure of the culture to the appeal of extraordinary places.

The artistic Direction: “Traveling between the charm of the places and the magic of music, are the words that more often have accompanied the summer manifestation. Music and emotions interwoven with the culture of the territory, adding the pleasure of art and beauty to the conviviality and hospitality, on a single, natural stage in which the performers and the audience meet to embrace the art with thought and emotion”.

The program begins with an event within the event, the first edition of the Concert in Alta Langa, Sunday, July 10th at 12 PM, in the magical Woods of Monte Rotondo in Torresina, an inaugural concert of great charm and appeal in which music will join with the magic of nature. Future programs include the Stradivarius of Aiman Massakajayeva and the Chamber Orchestra of the State of Kazakhstan, the prestigious chamber orchestra Ensemble of Tokyo under the direction of Chang-Kook Kim, the Brass Quintet of the RAI National Symphonic Orchestra, the famous Arias of Opera and the romances with Jolanta Stanelyte, a performance dedicated to the Argentinian tango with the ContraMilonga, another dedicated to Irish music with the Caledonian Companion, classical-jazz with the Rino Vernizzi Trio, piano recitals with five international soloists from Korea, Belgium, Italy and Romania, homages to Liszt in the bicentennial of his birth, the virtuoso Andrew Balio solo trumpet of the Baltimore Orchestra, a program dedicated to the music from the cinema, from Nino Rota to Morricone and many more. All the concerts are free admission.

An extra occasion to discover the beauties of this territory, from the woods of Monte Rotondo in Torresina, to the castles of Grinzane Cavour and Magliano Alfieri, to the splendid boroughs of Castiglione Falletto, La Morra and Verduno, to the striking Tenuta Carretta of Piobesi, Relais Villa d’Amelia of Benevello, the wine cellar Terre del Barolo of Castiglione Falletto and Negro of Monteu Roero, from the Confraternita di San Bernardino of Vezza d’Alba, to the fascinating Santuario della Madonna di Hal di Murazzano, from the boroughs of Treiso, Sinio and Trezzo Tinella to the charm to the High Langhe of Sale San Giovanni and, naturally, Alba.

The festival, created in collaboration with Ente Turismo Alba Bra Langhe Roero, Consorzio Turistico Langhe Monferrato Roero, Strada Romantica delle Langhe e del Roero, is part of Piemonte dal Vivo, traveling with festivals to discover the region.

Their presidents have declared: «We have involved the tourist and commercial activities and promoted the event in Italy and abroad, as a cultural, tourist, and, attractive vehicle for a clientele of high level. Tourist packets, predisposed ad hoc for the Festival, diffused in Italian and foreign tourist agencies, above all American, have allowed us to describe Langhe and Roero as a place of not just commercial and gastronomic vivacity but also cultural, stimulating the desire to know our beautiful hills in the summer, enjoying the pleasantness of unique and striking musical atmospheres».

Six of these sceneries are part of the Strada Romantica of Langhe and Roero, a route conceived for offering a vision of the places and for entering, through words, spaces and stories, in the life of this territory. “Traveling the Strada Romantica of Langhe and Roero means following together the winding procession of the hills, along streets that compete with the sun and vineyards, overlooking views that excite the look, places ready to reveal a new face behind every curve. Here is the protagonist of our story: the landscape, fascinating narrator of stories and silent caretaker of memories".

Among those who have seen in the festival Suoni dalle Colline a further opportunity to live the Langhe and Roero: Ente Turismo Alba Bra Langhe e Roero, Consorzio Turistico Langhe Monferrato Roero, Strada Romantica delle Langhe e del Roero, Associazione Commercianti Albesi, Parco Culturale Langhe Monferrato Roero and naturally the Municipalities and places, real protagonists of the festival.
